Program Structure

Three online modules followed by one in-person capstone day.

Module 1 — AI foundations for educators

90 minutes self-paced + 45 minute live Google Meet touchpoint on October 6 at 3:30pm

Outcomes:

  • Understand current capabilities and limits of LLMs
  • Map AI use cases to teaching, assessment, planning, communication
  • Establish safe, responsible use guardrails for your context

Practice: Short activities that generate lesson supports, rubrics, feedback drafts

Module 2 — Building at the individual level

Asynchronous self-paced.)

Outcomes:

  • Use prompt patterns to design small, repeatable personal workflows
  • Set up a "micro-assistant" for planning, drafting, and reflection

Practice: Create a reusable prompt pack and a personal grading or feedback assistant

Module 3 — Scaling to the department

2 hours Asyncronous module with online support as needed

Outcomes:

  • Turn individual wins into team workflows and shared templates
  • Plan basic data hygiene and documentation so others can adopt

Practice: Design a lightweight departmental workflow, such as a unit planning generator, formative feedback system, or parent communication helper

In-person capstone day (Toronto)

Schedule:

  • Morning Strategy Lab: clarify goals, select a high-value problem, draft success metrics and risks
  • Build Sprint 1: stand up a working prototype or workflow using provided starter kits
  • Peer Reviews: test, refine, improve
  • Build Sprint 2: finalize a usable artifact for your classroom or department
  • Launch Plan: 30-day adoption plan, supports, and measures

What you will leave with:

  • A working capstone artifact you can use or pilot immediately
  • An adoption plan that fits your school context
  • Templates, prompt packs, and examples from the cohort

Tools during the day:

We support a BYO account model for tools like ChatGPT or Gemini. We will also have paid Pro account for those that require. A browser-based lab with temporary keys is provided during the build sprints so everyone can participate without friction.

Tuition covers: All online modules, the capstone day, materials, and access to cohort resources.

Cancellation policy: Venue and program costs are kept lean. If minimum enrollment is not reached, accepted applicants will be offered a transfer to a future session or a full refund. Participant-initiated cancellations are subject to the terms provided in the registration offer.
